Finn Slough is located about a half hour drive from Vancouver, BC in the suburb of Richmond. Richmond has lots of great little spots to explore (look for future posts about Mitchell Island, the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, and Steveston) but one of my favorites is Finn Slough, a fishing village first established in the early 1900’s by Finnish immigrants and located on a tidal channel of water connected to the Fraser River . Surprisingly, a few people still live in the little old houses on stilts that border the slough. I often visit in late October as there are a few pumpkin farms nearby, and the fall colors and grey skies make everything just a little more mysterious and pretty.
Finn Slough is located at 9480 Dyke Road in Richmond, BC at the very end of Number 4 Road.
